If you’re hosting or headed to a party, here is a great no-cook option for an appetizer or starter, caprese skewers with prosciutto. I took the skewers shown at the end of the video to the birthday party of my good friend Chef Nadia and her twin sister Elon. The skewers disappeared REALLY quickly. I know your friends will enjoy them too.
mozzarella (balls in olive oil)
fresh whole basil leaves
prosciutto di parma

Items to add or substitute:
- hearts of palm
- artichoke hearts
- pitted olives
I went to a party supply store to find the long-ish bamboo skewers. Toothpicks tend to be too short and grilling skewers are way too long. So the ones I chose are a few inches long and perfect.
Some people complain that prosciutto (or salami) is too salty. Be sure to pick a meat that does’t overpower the other flavors.
Do not break the bank with any of the ingredients. Use the best ingredients that YOU can afford.
